DNA Fingerprinting Process
The process of fingerprinting starts with a small amount of someones DNA .The most common method of getting this small amount of DNA is by running a q-tip along the inside of your mouth. Other types of methods can be used if the q-tip swab can't be done; the dna fingerprinting process can be done with blood, saliva, or even a piece of hair.
The fluid or tissue that's collected will then be analyzed by a laboratory specialist.
There are many different techniques they can use to do this. I won't outline them here because the methods can be a little bit technical and dry, but if you'd like more information about how they work, then there are many other sites availible on the web that will talk about them in detail.
